Nothing at all wrong with this one. The Dead did a wonderful college run through this spring; this one's short, compact, and surprisingly tight, given the loosey-goose approach the band took ,almost deliberately dismantling the perfected '77 sound.
First set - check the weird timing on Brown-Eyed Women - the crowd perhaps can't tell if the Devils are just having a bad night, but they keep it going, and we get what's up. Like the double-time on FOTD, the rhythm section took some unusual chances in '78. Let it Grow is really a high-energy creation.
Sunrise is fun, but that song contains what is easily the worst lyric in the history of the Grateful Dead ("I remember breezes from winds inside your body keep me high." - ??? Seriously, Donna?) Second set comes alive with Playin' - listen to Bobby in particular here. They play with an almost ferocious, frantic energy that ends far, far too soon....the Dew everyone talks about is good, really good, but nothing utterly amazing...fun to hear in the '78 context.
A worthy addition to this great tour -

Searching for the Sound...
Fantastic performance, jaw-dropping audio quality. (Mr. Miller, you are a God....)
For those of you in the right "frame of mind" searching for THE show to listen to, this one will not disappoint.
Good luck in treetops. :-)
